Story

Day 21 (Night)

The newly merged Barramundi tribe return to camp having just attended their first tribal council, where Chelsie became the first casualty of the tribe. The four remaining members of Kucha slowly place their belongings down, feeling deflated now that they've ended up on the wrong side of the numbers. Curt and Clarity both relish this, as they once again find themselves in the majority of a tribe. Ned and Victor sit, feeling somewhat guilty for siding with Ogakor, who despite being their original tribe, continue to act in a manner which paint them out to be the antagonists. Farrell stands by Clarity and Curt, feeling as though he is siding with them fully for the first time in twenty-one days.

Quote1Have I done something to personally upset you guys?Quote2- Farrell
Quote1Why do you ask?Quote2- Neil
Quote1Well, at tribal council you all seemed to be in agreement that I was unwelcoming.Quote2- Farrell
Quote1You're not exactly someone who has interacted much with us... So I suppose that just made a lot of us feel cautious around you.Quote2- Alia
Quote1Well perhaps because my first interaction with you was when you kept drinking wine and screaming... It was irritating and I didn't particularly want to be associated with you after thatQuote2- Farrell
I would have loved to come back at Farrell with a list of all the things wrong with his statement against me. But when you're in a bad position, which I am, there's very few things you can do. The last thing I want is to anger those in power to the point where I'm the next person removed.

–Alia

Neil and Reniero head to bed, with little to say on the matter before them. Alia and Carlson stay up late, with Ned also staying up having been unable to sleep.

Quote1On the bright side, she'll be sitting someone that's nice and warm... Eating good food. She'll be able to wash! Think of the positives...Quote2- Alia
Quote1She's sitting with Mitchell, Rose and Cindra... Not exactly three people she got on with... Now we're sitting here totally screwed... (sighs)Quote2- Carlson
Quote1Well you best not give up. I'm not dragging you along with me. So pick yourself up, tomorrows a new day, ok?Quote2- Alia
Quote1Ok. (he leans over hugging Alia)Quote2- Carlson
I sat across watching Alia and Carlson interacting, talking about Chelsie. It was such a lovely thing... I've not seen anyone on Ogakor get along like that. The way they talked about Chelsie even though she's not here was refreshing... My experiences on Ogakor were people fighting, and the others calling those who got voted out behind their backs. It does make me reconsider whether joining people like this would be better for myself... But to think from a strategic aspect, those on Ogakor are the better options for the endgame.

–Ned

Day 22

Neil and Reniero both get up early to go fishing, hoping that by proving their worth to the ex-Ogakor members, that they'll buy themselves six days, and that Alia and Carlson will be the next two members to leave. Ned begins making breakfast, whilst the other tribe members get up around him. Whilst emptying out the rice, the tribe realize that they are becoming seriously short on food.

Quote1Is that all we've got left?Quote2- Farrell
Quote1It appears so...Quote2- Ned
Quote1How long do you think that'll last?Quote2- Clarity
Quote1About... Six days.Quote2- Ned
Quote1Six days!?Quote2- Clarity
Quote1What about if only five are fed a day...Quote2- Curt
Quote1What do you mean only five?Quote2- Ned
Quote1Just work it out...Quote2- Curt
Quote1Uh, I suppose about twelve days...Quote2- Ned
We're running seriously low on rice, so I wanted to find out some vital information... How long does the rice last if we don't feed any of the Kucha members. Ned told me twelve days, that should take us up to the last few days of this thing... So there's no problem.

–Curt

Quote1We can't not feed them...Quote2- Ned
Quote1Says who?Quote2- Curt
Quote1My morals.Quote2- Ned
Quote1Well how about you pack them away. You're not winning this game by playing the nice guy.Quote2- Curt
Quote1And you're going to win by playing the jackass? You're alienating everyone on their tribe... They wont just vote for you to win money if you act that way!Quote2- Ned
Quote1(shrugs) We'll see...Quote2- Curt
As much as I hate to admit it... Ned was right. These guys wont give me anything if I make them feel too bad. So maybe somewhere down the line I can get two birds with one stone. Befriend some of the Kucha people, and take out some of the irritants from Ogakor... Starting with Ned.

–Curt

Over by the shelter, Alia and Carlson sit and observe Ogakor as they argue. The two discuss the positives in seeing cracks, as it means there is the potential for members to eventually flip at a future tribal council. Alia continues to feel nervous in seeing Carlson deflated, hoping that her long time ally hasn't checked out of the game.

Quote1We'll be fine... They'll go for Neil and Reniero before us... We don't look strong.Quote2- Alia
Quote1I'd rather just head home now... What's the point in waiting twelve more days just to fail in getting the money.Quote2- Carlson
Quote1Because in twelve days things could seriously have changed around here, and you'll look back at this moment and laugh at how stupid you were being. You pulled me back into this game after I went awry, now I'm doing the same for you... As my buddy I need you.Quote2- Alia
I don't want to say that I'm quitting, because I'd never actually lay my torch down. But the more I think about it the more it seems logical just to get voted out next. I think my ego is struggling to adjust to being at the bottom... This should only be a phase and hopefully by tomorrow I've snapped out of it.

–Carlson

Quote1It's his fault...Quote2- Alia
Quote1Who?Quote2- Carlson
Quote1Neil... It's his fault this happened.Quote2- Alia
Quote1Why?Quote2- Carlson
Quote1Because his stupid no strategy rule basically screwed us over come merge! We all had votes! Apparently only one of the other tribe had a vote... Why? Because they voted in alliances which meant they took out anyone getting lots of votes!Quote2- Alia
Quote1There's nothing we can do about it now... Maybe we should have followed Mitchell and just voted Neil out first tribal.Quote2- Carlson
Quote1I'm beginning to think we should have...Quote2- Alia
After having these days of tranquility at Kucha where we got to know each other better, we've come crashing down to the ground. Neil made a sterling effort to change his ways, but its only now that I realize how late he was in doing so... He single handedly allowed our tribe to destroy itself before the merge occurred. I know that Neil no longer is that same guy he was earlier in the game... But I feel as though he has to take the next blow for his mistakes, and therefore I'll push for him to be the next Kucha member to go. I don't think getting anyone to flip at this point is possible because no one on Ogakor wants to lose their numbers advantage, so it has to be one of us going again... and it's going to be Neil.

–Alia

The tribe spend the rest of their day doing necessary chores. Alia and Carlson work around the camp, with Alia spending much of her time bonding with Victor, whom she feels a genuine connection with. Reniero and Neil return from fishing, having only managed to catch a small amount of protein. Ned continues to express his concerns with the food shortage, stating that something needs to be done fairly in order to preserve their supplies.

Day 23

Challenge: Return to Sender
Each person must stand inside a white circle of a target and throws their boomerang, aiming for the red flag in the center of the target.

After winning the reward challenge, Victor selects Alia to accompany him to the feast, with every other member confused as to why Victor would select someone from Kucha. Victor states his reasoning as "Alia almost won, so its the fairest thing". This decision appears to anger Clarity and Curt, who both let their feelings known before departing back to camp, leaving Alia and Victor to enjoy their food with the knowledge that the others aren't pleased with them. After everyone has left, both Victor and Alia sit down to eat, with Alia thanking Victor for selecting her, before asking why he picked her, being surprised with his decision herself. Victor claims that he knew he'd pick someone who had done well in the challenge had he won, leaving Alia and Farrell as his main options. He then states that he would rather share the experience with Alia over Farrell, as she has made a greater social effort with him. The two discuss the possibility of changing up the game, but Victor admits he's unsure whether he'd flip on his tribe just after they achieved a majority, and that it would make more sense to change the game up when only two or three Kucha members remain.

It was really sweet of Victor to select me for the reward today. At first I was excited to get some food and to hang out, but then I got thinking... Maybe this is just an attempt at getting jury votes? Victor is a smart guy... He knows how to play this game despite seeming oblivious at the same time. I did panic, thinking that I was the next one to go, and that Victor was using this treat to get my jury vote in his pocket... So I thought that I needed to play my own game... And really get working on Victor. He basically told me that there was no chance anyone from Ogakor would go this tribal council, and that someone from Kucha would have to go until only two or three of us remained. As much as that sucked it meant that I had to force one of my old tribe members out the door...

–Alia

Alia begins talking with Victor about which Kucha member will likely go home next, to which Victor admits that it will likely be herself, Neil or Reniero, as Carlson is deemed the least threatening by the other tribe members. Alia asks Victor whether he'd be able to sway the vote onto Neil, to which he seems unsure, stating that he doesn't know how much influence he has over his tribe mates. The two finish up their feast, with Victor promising to try and help Alia out by going after one of the guys, but states that she shouldn't get her hopes up too much, as Farrell, Curt and Clarity all are aiming for her next.

After my chat with Alia I decided that she was a good ally to keep around in this game. I don't want things to simply be Ogakor till the final five, because I don't feel any of my old tribe members particularly hold any loyalty to me. In an ideal situation Reniero and Neil would be the next two individuals to go home, and then after that I could work with Ned, Carlson and Alia to get to the final four. The only issue I have is that I hold little to no power over my tribes votes... So I'm almost just a pawn for them right now... I vote how they vote, and I cant make moves on my own out here.

–Victor

Back at camp, the remaining seven members sit around the shelter all feeling either irritated or shocked at Victor selecting Alia for the reward. Curt begins to rant about how Victor is screwing himself over by making "new friends" and "sleeping with the enemy". Neil and Reniero both try to agree with Curt and the Ogakor members, once again attempting to get on their good side, whilst Carlson sits silently by the fire, observing each member as they talk.

Quote1I don't know what the hell was going through his head...Quote2- Curt
Quote1He's a lunatic... We've seen it for eighteen days back at Ogakor, and he's still being crazy here.Quote2- Clarity
Quote1I'm in a right mind to vote him out next.Quote2- Curt
Quote1Curt... Just calm it...Quote2- Ned
Quote1No, no I'm going to speak and I don't care if those three listen in.Quote2- Curt
Victor decided that he wanted to show us all he liked Alia a little too much today. It's like Farrell and Laurencia all over again... You cant go outside your alliance to find friends, it causes paranoia. Myself and Curt seem to be on the same page continuously as the loyal members of this alliance, and its frustrating to have others screw things up.

–Clarity

Quote1She's going next. I tell you right now she'll go next...Quote2- Curt
Quote1Seems like the best option.Quote2- Farrell
Quote1If you can vote out Laurencia, then he can vote her out... So congratulations you three, you've bought yourself an extra three days.Quote2- Curt
Quote1Honestly we're fine to go along with what you guys want as of now... If you want her gone... I think myself and Reniero are happy to help with that.Quote2- Neil
Realising that we're in seriously trouble, I have no choice but to go with Ogakor on what they're saying. I wont vote against my own tribe because I don't want to break the bond I have with them... But I'm comfortable knowing that Alia will be the next to go, as opposed to myself or Reniero, as I feel the two of us have a close friendship, and that if we stay in this game a bit longer we can hopefully convince Ogakor to let us slide through.

–Neil

The game itself makes very little sense to me right now. On one hand there is this overwhelming sense that all four Kucha members will leave this game one after the other. I feel we need to be making moves to get someone to flip but no one seems up for it... Sadly Neil is just so keen to go with Ogakor to save himself that I have to drift alongside him. It does pain me to potentially leave Alia behind costing her the game, but if its a case of her or me... I'd happily shove her under the bus.

–Reniero

Quote1I love your change of character Neil... It's funny.Quote2- Clarity
Quote1What do you mean?Quote2- Neil
Quote1You turn up at the merge barking orders... Being all grumpy... Now you're mister nice guy... Good to see how being in the minority brings the best out of people.Quote2- Clarity
I do love to call certain individuals out on their mistakes in this game. Neil's behavior reminded me why I dislike him. He's fake... The way he's all up Curt's ass really irritated me... He turned up at the merge and acted like a complete jerk.. He tried to make a strategic move at the first tribal... I'd forgotten all about this until he decided to talk again. Maybe Alia shouldn't go home... Maybe it should be Neil... Right now any of them could leave... It's just a matter of who we decide at the last second.

–Clarity

Victor and Alia return to camp having finished there rewarded, being greeted coldly by their tribe members. Carlson goes over to speak with his long term ally Alia, whilst Victor sits with Ned, who appears to be the only member willing to speak with him.

Quote1You need to watch out...Quote2- Carlson
Quote1Why?Quote2- Alia
Quote1They want you gone next.Quote2- Carlson
Quote1What!? Who does?Quote2- Alia
Quote1All of them... Curt, Clarity, Farrell... Neil was like happy to shove you under the bus too. We need to be getting one of them to flip, not taking out our own people...Quote2- Carlson
Quote1Well I've spoken with Victor, he doesn't want to flip... He might one day, but not right now... We need to get Neil out... I spoke with Victor and he seems as though he could try to get the vote onto him...Quote2- Alia
Quote1And what if this fails and you go home?Quote2- Carlson
Quote1Then win this thing...Quote2- Alia
After hearing the others plan Alia's departure I felt as though my energy in the game had somewhat returned. Just because I felt I no longer cared about my game didn't mean that I was happy to see hers go down the drain too. It reminded me that I need to look out for her, and that by throwing in the towel I'd just drag her down with me. So as soon as she got back we spoke about what to do, and I realized that Alia had been trying to get Neil out of this game because there's no hope for someone flipping. It does upset me that she's taken this approach because I think we really need to stick together for as long as possible... But the plans have been set up and its too late for me to change this...

–Carlson

Knowing that Neil was comfortable with me going home meant any guilt I felt over putting a target on him was gone. I will now put all my energy into making sure the five in control vote for him tonight... I'm tempted to vote for him myself now... But I don't want to look like the girl who turned on her tribe... If I can do this in a sneaky manner then its all good... I don't want to upset the potential jury.

–Alia

Whilst talking to Ned, Victor realizes that his tribe are angry with him over his decision to reward Alia. Ned states that he himself is fine with the decision, and that it was mostly Curt and Clarity kicking up dirt. Victor talks to Ned about the Kucha members, stating that he feels Alia is generally a good choice to keep around, as after talking with her he realized she was willing to follow, and that Neil is a bigger threat due to his ability to lead. Ned claims to not have an opinion on who should go next, but that he himself is leaning towards Alia for the simple fact "its what the others want".

Day 24

The tribe is informed that they will be facing their next individual immunity challenge. All four Kucha members feel as though they need to win in order to protect themselves, whilst the Ogakor members wish to win in order to keep all Kucha members vulnerable, preventing any of them winning causing plans to change.

I want to go in today giving everything I've got. We've been assured that Alia will be the next to go, but there's still that uncertainty that it could be you leaving... The only way you can guarantee its not you is by winning immunity.

–Neil

All the members of Kucha have started to turn on each other... They've almost split into two duos... Each trying to make sure its not them going home. Although my alliance is acting erratically calling out one another, I feel as though we can safely say that we're all ok tonight... It seems that either Alia or Neil will go home, possibly Reniero due to his physical ability... Worst case scenario today is that Alia wins immunity because that means we have to go with Neil or Reniero, and that we wont have the opportunity to even consider taking out Alia, who has proven herself to be a strategic and social threat.

–Ned

Challenge: Don't Fence Me In
The playing field consists of posts in rows of ten with ropes hanging from one side of the post. Survivors take turns connecting the rope of one post to another post in order to eventually make a square. The Survivor "owns" a square when he or she is able to close off the square upon their turn. The Survivor who "owns" the most squares wins.

The Barramundi tribe return from the immunity challenge, where Reniero held onto safety by winning his second challenge in a row. Neil and Alia, who both feel at risk going into tribal council, reluctantly congratulate Reniero, trying to hide their own disappointment. Curt attempts to gather his Ogakor members in order to discuss the vote, getting the decision quickly out of the way.

Today I managed to win my second immunity challenge. Its a great feeling to know that you're safe in this game... But I realize that this does put a target on my back, because now the others will see me as the strongest one out here... I accept it as a true statement, I believe I could easily take on anyone in this game... But I don't feel its good that the others know this. Tonight at tribal council I might throw my vote towards Alia, as its what a lot of others are doing. Perhaps if I get on the good side of the numbers I'll buy myself more time. However I dont want this to occur, as I'd much rather vote for someone I'm not close with... Victor, Curt, Clarity... Any of them.

–Reniero

Quote1So who is it tonight? I'm feeling Alia.Quote2- Curt
Quote1I'd happily send her home...Quote2- Farrell
Quote1I dont know about it guys... I know you feel I like her, and I do... But she isn't a threat! She has nothing going for her. Neil was the old leader of that tribe, he undermined you Curt as soon as he got here... Now that we have the power he's sucking up to us! Tell me that's not shady... He's not the sort of guy you want running around the camp.Quote2- Victor
Quote1Victor, I dont want to hear it from you right now... You screwed up today, and you're still digging yourself a hole by sticking up for that idiot girl!Quote2- Curt
Quote1I'm actually with Victor on this one... I dont want to remove another girl... She wont win challenges... Take out the guy who poses the threat!Quote2- Clarity
Quote1I cant believe what I'm hearing right now...Quote2- Curt
Quote1Ned, what do you think?Quote2- Farrell
Quote1Well... I like Alia more... Neil has been playing up to us though...Quote2- Ned
Quote1You like Alia more! That's the point! She's a social threat! What do we get to the point where you like Alia more then me, and vote me out!?Quote2- Curt
My tribe continue to make mistake after mistake... They want to remove Neil, the bumbling old fool who doesn't pose a threat, instead of Alia, the crafty one who will undoubtedly cost us all the game!

–Curt

Quote1Curt, no one is flipping... Get it into your head! I'm putting my foot down on this one guys... You got to vote out Georgia who I wanted to keep around... So I'd like to have my say...Quote2- Clarity
Quote1Well then I'll vote Alia on my own...Quote2- Curt
Quote1And cause a tie!? Are you serious?Quote2- Clarity
Curt is overacting about something so small and its just getting to me. I've been good to him as an ally, and he cant accept decisions if they're not his own. Tonight I want us to go after Neil, and we need Curt to be on side. If he doesn't then we have to vote Alia just to prevent this tie from occurring... I dont want Kucha to spot weakness in our alliance.

–Clarity

Over by the shelter, the four Kucha members end up discussing the vote while they're alone. Carlson raises a point that they cant give up and turn on one another, and instead they still need to attempt to remove Ogakor. Reniero agrees, claiming that Curt has continued to make threats against Victor, and that they could attempt to turn things on Curt. Neil and Alia both raise concerns, believing it to be pointless, but Carlson insists they try either way.

It seems tonight I have two priorities... Get Victor to flip to our side, whilst making sure the target stays on Neil. That way I can hopefully stay in this game without receiving any votes against myself.

–Alia

I do feel as though there isn't much point in this tonight. Alia knows she's on the chopping block, as does Carlson... I think he's going to go all out to make sure his friend stays safe. I'll just lay low for now... Hoping that the other tribe let me slip under the radar.

–Neil

Alia and Carlson approach Victor whilst he is alone, frantically talking to him about Curt's comments. Victor doesn't act surprised, stating that Curt often makes comments like that, and that they shouldn't be taken literally, as he wouldn't actually act out on them. Carlson and Alia both continue to throw the vote onto Curt, claiming that if Victor waits around he'll look like a sheep, and that no sympathy will be given if the group turn on him. Victor says he understands this, telling them that he will not put his game in jeopardy for their benefit.

Carlson and Alia seemed desperate when they came to talk to me earlier. I like them both, I think they're both great people... But the bottom line is they're desperate, and they'll just dig themselves a hole if they continue. I have felt as though Curt has been more and more hostile since the merge occurred, particularly towards myself... But I dont know if voting him out is the wisest move, as I turn my back on three others, putting myself at the bottom of Kucha's own alliance. If I was to say I knew who I was voting for right now, I'd be lying... As a tribe Ogakor have picked who they're going for... But part of me doesn't want to keep following.

–Victor

At tribal council, all four Kucha members express their disappointment at finding themselves at the bottom. Carlson admits that he was tempted to throw away the game, feeling as though no hope remained. Victor is questioned on his decision to take Alia on the reward, trying to explain himself whilst Curt shouts over him, calling him out for being two faced and fickle. Ned ends up defending Victor, stating although he personally didn't understand the decision, he doesn't feel as though it means Victor has swapped sides, as he is confident that Victor will remain part of Ogakor until the end. Clarity admits that Ogakor narrowed their decision down to two individuals, and that they were unsure which Kucha member should go next. Neil steps in, feeling as though he needs to plea for his safety. He begins to highlight that he is the hardest worker around camp, and that he offers little social or strategic value, meaning he cant pose a threat. Alia looks as though she wishes to speak, but decides to remain quiet, wanting to stay as under the radar as possible. Reniero decides to speak up, stating that he finds it amusing that certain members of Ogakor are willing to present themselves as sheep to the jury, and that they are blindly following a leader. Clarity then interjects, claiming that Ogakor has no leader, and that they take turns making decisions. As the vote comes in, Kucha are left disappointed to see their four votes against Curt count for nothing. Alia then breathes a sigh of relief, seeing that Ogakor had decided to remove Neil from the game in a 5-4 vote. Neil leaves looking disappointed, but waves goodbye to the entire tribe before departing as the first member of the jury.

This vote will probably count for nothing. Hopefully its Neil and not me...

–Alia

You've caused so much tension and you're still here. It's surprising but good job on controlling your tribe.

–Carlson

I feel as though I led the charge against you. Nothing personal... You just let yourself down by being too... controlling.

–Clarity

I'm annoyed that my tribe once again didn't listen to my decisions. Although you and I clashed before I actually think you're an alright guy. You're hardworking and that's something I like to see.

–Curt

You seem like a nice enough guy, but you've just ended up on the bad side.

–Farrell

You and I haven't really interacted which is a shame. Hope you enjoyed the experience and got what you wanted out of it.

–Ned

Nervous that this vote will be for nothing... Hopefully Victor decides to join us.

–Neil

You seem to run your tribe through fear, and sadly it works... Claiming you all make the decisions is quite amusing, but hopefully with you gone they can all scatter around without the head to lead them.

–Reniero

Thankfully its you and not Alia tonight. Had I been asked to vote Alia I might have written down 'Curt'... But things fell into place that you were going... And that's why I'm sticking to my team.

–Victor

Final Words

It's definitely a shame I didn't get to stay around longer. I feel as though early on I made several mistakes by not endorsing the strategic game, maybe it could have helped me out more come merge. I wish everyone luck, and hope they continue to have an amazing time, because I'd give anything to go back and try this again, so they best make the most of it while they're there.
