Story

Day 3 (Night)

The Samburu tribe returns to camp having just attended the first tribal council of the game, where Roland became the first castaway voted out. Briallen and Renato immediately feel out of place, having voted against Luigino, whilst the five others in camp joined up to oust Roland. Before anyone can make any comments, Luigino walks over to Renato and Briallen, extending his hand in an attempt to receive a handshake.

Quote1Listen, I know you guys wrote my uh... name down... I aint here to make enemies, I want to be able to go on from this. No grudges will be held whatsoever... Just want to let you guys know this so we can all feel a little bit at ease.Quote2- Luigino
Quote1Thank you man... I appreciate it. Nothing personal just...-Quote2- Renato
Quote1Whatever it is I don't care. Its in the past now... We move forward from here.Quote2- Luigino
Quote1Thanks Lou...Quote2- Briallen
I felt it would be best to make amends with Renato and Briallen. There's no animosity there now... I hope. My wife would be proud that I tried to remove any hateful feelings inside me... Its hard for me to shake the hand of those two, but I feel now its done I don't need to worry so much. It doesn't take away the fact the two of them tried to prevent me from earning a million dollars... that's something I'll always have in the back of my mind.

–Luigino

Tonight things went pretty badly for me. I didn't expect Roland to be the one going home, but of course he did... and now I'm sitting in a pretty poor position. Renato is the only person on our tribe who I feel loyalty to... but unless he and I can make a move in getting others on our side then we'll be going home pretty soon.

–Briallen

The group eagerly decide who should go and collect the water, knowing that with matches they will now be able to get a fire going to boil it. However, David suggests that the tribe stay put, citing the dangerous animals outside the shelter as a reason to stay put until the sun rises, not wanting to see anyone else go down through sickness or injury.

This is Africa... we're not in central park or Yellowstone... this is an alien land for us all, and we don't know what is lurking outside our perimeter when the sun goes down. We've dealt with thirst for three days, I'm sure to guarantee our safety we can all wait one more night.

–David

Quote1I'm just thankful you guys all gave me a second chance after my tumble yesterday...Quote2- Renato
Quote1You weren't going anywhere sweetie! We cant lose our biggest guy this early (laughs)Quote2- Ingrid
Quote1I told you not to worry... I think we made the right choice with Roland.Quote2- Adela
Quote1Absolutely... he just didn't have what it takes.Quote2- David
Quote1Well once again guys... Really appreciate what you've all done for me. Time to get some rest... night.Quote2- Renato
I wasn't expecting Roland to go home after this tribal council... In my mind I assumed it was myself or Luigino going. I'm going to take this as a positive and assume that the group do see I have something to bring, and that I will be able to continue leading them in the future. We've got some matches now, so tomorrow we'll get the water boiled... then we're back in this thing... it'll be an equal playing field.

–Renato

Day 4

Boran

A majority of the Boran tribe sit around the now burning fire, having been awake for a good hour, enjoying the luxury of drinking clean boiled water. The only members of Boran still asleep are Don and Neville, who are left undisturbed by their tribe members. Abbas sits tending the fire, pouring out cooled down clean water for his tribe members, who continue to praise his strong work ethic around camp. Mary sits behind Kris, checking his sunburn, stating that it looks less "angry", and that she believes her remedy has worked. Whilst the group are talking, Phillis decides to question Mary and Marsha on their friendship, which has become particularly apparent to the entire group. Phillis jokes that the two are "blatantly aligned", evoking nervous laughter from the two ladies. Kris then joins in, claiming that he too believes they are working together. The conversation suddenly turns to a suggestion, with Phillis making a throw away comment that the six of them should "work together".

I saw the door was somewhat ajar, so I decided to smash through it... (laughs)

–Phillis

Quote1Six people working together... Literally an unstoppable force.Quote2- Mary
Quote1Then lets do it... why make a two to four person alliance... Lets really crank it up and control this entire game.Quote2- Phillis
Quote1Count me in...Quote2- Kris
Quote1I'm happy to tag along... Lets just hope we don't lose three challenges... Keep it six strong until the end.Quote2- Abbas
Quote1So we're all good? Feel free to tell five others you don't want to work with them if it makes you uncomfortable (laughs)Quote2- Phillis

The entire group stay silent after Phillis' comment, signaling that the six are happy to work together as an alliance. Don is heard snoring by the tribe, causing Phillis and Kris to burst out laughing.

It's quite funny how we're all sitting here making an alliance, and the two old guys are just snoring away... oblivious.

–Kris

Quote1So come clean guys... was there an alliance?Quote2- Kris
Quote1Not an alliance as such... Just a bond...Quote2- Mary
Quote1Yeah, nothin' was going on (laughs)Quote2- Marsha
Quote1Ok... whatever you say (laughs)Quote2- Phillis
Although I am now working with both Mary and Marsha, I do realize that they're most likely aligned together in a small two person deal. This means that when we get down to the point where our alliance turn on one another, they'll be working together. It may be wiser down the road to consider taking one of them out before our enemies, that way we isolate the other... That way I can also make sure that person stays loyal to me... Its a cutthroat game out here and I'm willing to play it... Who needs friends at the end of the day?

–Phillis

I think Phillis is a smart girl... She knows how this game should be played. I want to work with her, and I'm glad she created this bigger alliance... But my gut tells me not to trust her... Something about her just seems... off. She reminds me of a teacher I had at school when I was younger... a truly horrible lady... which is odd considering I'm about ten years older then Phillis... (shakes her head and laughs)

–Mary

Soledad sits quietly after the creation of the six person alliance, leading Marsha to ask whether she's ok, to which she replies that she is. Don begins to wake up, smiling over to his tribe mates, causing Soledad to feel even more guilt for her close friend, whom she now knows is outside her alliance.

I wanted to avoid the alliance that was created this morning, for two main reasons. Firstly, there's too many of us... Too many cooks spoil the broth as they say. We're going to clash and really embarrass ourselves... I don't see the alliance lasting up until the final six like Phillis is preaching. The second reason is that poor old Don wanted to get an hours extra sleep this morning because he sat up last night keeping 'watch'... Because he wasn't there with the group he's now vulnerable in this game, and that upsets me because if anything I'd vote out the other five over Don. I think I'll just keep doing what I'm doing... and hopefully somehow I can keep him safe long enough to change the six person alliance to suit my needs.

–Soledad

After both Don and Neville arise from their beds, the tribe decide to get to work on making a roof for their shelter, feeling as though they will bake in the sun if they fail to create some shade to cool themselves off. Soledad once again steps into the leadership role, giving her tribe mates instructions on what to do, much to the annoyance of Neville.

I don't know who gave her the leadership position out here. What qualifications does she have to be a leader? She's not strong, she doesn't run a business... She's c**p in challenges from what I've seen! There are others in this tribe who would be better at leading this group... namely myself.

–Neville

I have no qualms with Soledad running the tribe... She has her head screwed on and is a respectable woman. She is the kind of person you want on your side because you can see she does have the makings of a strong player.

–Abbas

Don, Abbas, Neville and Kris work on putting up the roofing on the shelter, creating a small corner where the survivors can go to get out of the sun. Soledad, Marsha, Mary and Phillis collect the branches necessary to make the roof, all working together well to get it built quickly.

The sun out here really does cook you alive. Today is extremely hot, and we've got little areas we can hide ourselves. We got to work building the roof and it really worked out well, I mean I know I like it. This'll also save us from drying out so much and drinking water excessively... We've been doing that a lot recently and the more some people drink the more they throw up with their bodies almost rejecting the fluids...

–Marsha

Quote1The guys are working so well...Quote2- Mary
Quote1They are.Quote2- Marsha
Quote1We've got to give them props... I don't know if I could physically push myself as much as they do.Quote2- Soledad
Quote1Even Nev is chipping in.Quote2- Mary
Quote1He's a changed man (laughs)Quote2- Marsha
Quote1Don is a machine too... He and Abbas never stop as soon as they're up.Quote2- Mary
Quote1Taking into account that Don is the oldest out here by a good amount, I feel we do owe it to him to... Look after him.Quote2- Soledad
Quote1I love Don... He's just sweet.Quote2- Mary
Quote1But he's so old... I know its bad but can we really carry him through this with us?Quote2- Marsha
When I got Mary and Marsha on their own whilst we collected some branches I decided to get things moving pronto. Phillis was off elsewhere, so it was a good time to question whether they really want to keep Don as an enemy of our alliance just because the six of us were together at the time of creation. They both seemed receptive, willing to listen to the reasons we should bring Don in... It's the first step in redoing everything Phillis created... I don't want to be in someone else's alliance, I want to be in my own... One I created.

–Soledad

Soledad is fond of Don, and I think everyone is aware of that. It seems only natural she will kick up a fuss when Don is left out of the core alliance... It doesn't mean Don is going home so I don't understand why its made her so... strategically aggressive? She does need to be more concerned with herself then Don at this point... Yesterday I was told that my heart would get me into trouble, and I'm sure it will... Maybe the same advice needs to be given to Soledad.

–Mary

Samburu

Renato, David and Adela walk off to collect water in the early hours of day four, whilst Luigino tends to the newly lit fire back at camp. Renato stumbles during the walk, still clearly suffering from poor health, despite his best attempt at assuring the tribe he is fine. The three tribe members walk back to camp after collecting water, giving Renato time to talk with his opposition.

Quote1I hate to ask this question, but its something I'd rather know. But because of how the vote went... are myself and Briallen next? Is it that simple?Quote2- Renato
Quote1Not at all... Its not like the five of us who voted Roland are now together...Quote2- Adela
Quote1It was just a case of... we wanted Roland out... We're not going to make it easy and come after you and Bri...Quote2- David
Quote1That's good to know. I... I just don't want to feel hopeless in this game.Quote2- Renato
Quote1Well don't feel hopeless because you're not.Quote2- Adela
Quote1Yeah, I mean... For all I know, next tribal I'll vote... Ingrid or someone.Quote2- David
The simple solution for the majority of five would be to get rid of myself and Briallen, almost guaranteeing all of them a spot at the merge. I feel as though Adela and David are the ones with the most control on the tribe... I cant see Luigino, Ingrid or Phoebe calling the shots. It tells me that if I need to speak to anyone it is those two... As long as I keep showing myself to be a valuable member I think I'll be safe.

–Renato

Renato's comments made me wonder whether I was really in an alliance with the four others who voted with me last tribal... I know that I'm working with Adela, Luigino and Phoebe... But Ingrid is kind of tagging along with us.

–David

Upon returning to camp, Luigino immediately begins boiling the water, whilst Adela awakens Ingrid, Phoebe and Briallen. The tribe surround the fire, all eager to finally get some water, having gone without for several days. Renato opens a can of beans, handing it over to Luigino to cook for the tribes breakfast. After several minutes of cooking and boiling, the tribe sit down to enjoy their first proper nourishment of the game, all laughing and smiling whilst eating and drinking together.

Once we got some food and drink in us... We were taken away from the game, and managed to bond as people who are no longer needy... It was a success for us, to finally be able to get water in us.

–Luigino

Halfway during breakfast, Phoebe quickly stands up, before moving over to the entrance of the shelter. Ingrid places her food down, following Phoebe, concerned as to why she has run off.

Quote1Phoebe? You ok?Quote2- Adela
Quote1Is my cooking that bad? (slightly laughs)Quote2- Luigino
During breakfast Phoebe took a turn for the worst... She's been quite quiet recently, and when she ran off during the meal I began to panic... She's not only my friend in this game but she's also an ally... I talk to her more then the others... She's not the sort of person I want to leave.

–Adela

Phoebe begins to vomit, holding her head down as she does so. Ingrid stands behind her, gently rubbing her back, holding her hair up to make sure she doesn't vomit on it.

Quote1C'mon sweetie... Get it out.Quote2- Ingrid
Quote1Ugh... (she continues to be sick, with tears strolling down her face)Quote2- Phoebe
I haven't felt good today at all. I uh, couldn't keep any of the food down today... My body doesn't seem to be able to take these conditions. I felt bad for everyone in the tribe because they're witnessing me like this... I don't want them to be demoralized just because I'm... sick.

–Phoebe

Phoebe is slowly taken into the shade by Ingrid, with David and Adela trying to make sure their friend is alright. Briallen, Renato and Luigino clean up the breakfast, keeping any leftovers to the side, leaving the others to make sure Phoebe is alright. Whilst cleaning up, Briallen looks over at Phoebe, who is clearly in poor health.

I hate to say it, but in Survivor when you see someone throwing up and fainting it can be a positive, especially in my case. Phoebe is apart of a solid group right now, whilst I'm sitting here on the outs. Now I do feel bad for her, I really do. But I cant help but hope that she stays this way, so she will go before myself and Renato. I would never wish sickness on anybody out here... But if she cant stay because she's too ill, then I'm fine with that. Whatever keeps me here a little longer.

–Briallen

The tribe leave Phoebe to rest, knowing that she needs to get her health up for the challenges. Ingrid sits with Phoebe in the shade, pouring water on her head to make sure she keeps cool. Despite Ingrid's best intentions, several tribe members become annoyed by this, feeling as though she is slacking off her duties around camp. David and Renato talk amongst themselves about Ingrid, with David particularly annoyed at Ingrid's decision to rest as opposed to working. As the tribe continue working throughout the day, Renato once again appears weak, going extremely pale, with his hands shaking as he sits down to rest.

Today hasn't been good for Samburu at all. We got our food and water, which resulted in another sick individual. Renato looks like he's on deaths door again. On top of that we have Ingrid sitting in the shade "caring" for Phoebe, despite Phoebe needing to be on her own to rest, not receiving constant badgering from someone who secretly wants to rest herself. Our tribe is a complete and utter mess right now... I just hope that Luigino and Adela stay strong... Even Briallen hasn't complained yet... Maybe we need to shift people around the totem pole a bit before next tribal.

–David

Day 5

Challenge: Stairway to the Stars

Boran

The Boran tribe returns to camp having just lost the reward challenge, all feeling slightly demoralized knowing that Samburu now has an advantage due to the amount of supplies they just earned. The group sit around camp, taking a moment to think about their loss before moving onto their daily chores. Marsha, Mary and Kris go off outside the shelter to collect some firewood, whilst the others stay around camp, working on their shelters interior.

We sucked in todays challenge. I mean we did really bad in comparison to Samburu. For them to say they have sick members, only to kick our butts like that... its quite embarrassing. Today was an eye opener in that our men aren't as strong as they claim... Abbas did brilliantly as usual... Kris and Don struggled today... I mean poor Don... He's a sixty four year old trying to lift as much as twenty year olds... Neville is just... He's as weak as he is lazy.

–Soledad

Quote1Neville can you come and help me and Abbas put these branches in? Rather then just standing there...Quote2- Soledad
Quote1Its not a three man job...Quote2- Neville
Quote1And? I've asked for your help...Quote2- Soledad
Quote1And I've just said you're not getting it.Quote2- Neville
Quote1(irritated laugh) Why!?Quote2- Soledad
Quote1I just said why! Do you not listen to people? If you did maybe you wouldn't go on and on about the same c**p everyday!Quote2- Neville
Quote1Jesus guys calm down... Why are you getting aggressive?Quote2- Phillis
Quote1Because I've got nothing but her moaning at me day after day... You'd find it annoying too!Quote2- Neville
No one elected Soledad to lead this tribe. I know I mention his on a daily basis but its out of hand how poor she is as a leader... Yet no one is willing to speak up! She asked me to help her and Abbas put more freakin' branches in the perimeter... No! You don't need three people to do a one man job! So I went over and helped Phillis move our supplies over to the shade... If my resistance to Soledad's leadership makes them all hate me... So be it... If I do one thing out here it'll be showing her up as the bitch she is.

–Neville

Neville is disrespectful... He's loud, aggressive and lazy. I'm still waiting for his big reveal that he is really good at... swimming... or puzzles... But still I sit around waiting to know what he'll do to help this tribe, as opposed to hinder it.

–Don

Neville walks off, helping Phillis move the tribes supplies into the shade, leaving Don to help Soledad and Abbas with the perimeter. The three work together well, with the boys trying to support an emotional Soledad, who is clearly losing all patience with Neville.

Quote1I don't know how much longer I can put up with him...Quote2- Soledad
Quote1Just keep doing what you're doing.Quote2- Don
Quote1What, to make me look bad?Quote2- Soledad
Quote1You don't look bad...Quote2- Don
Quote1You don't look bad at all. You're dealing with him professionally and he's just looking like the trouble maker... People out here like you, not him... Just remember you're speaking for all of us. You have six other people agreeing with you when you go up against him.Quote2- Abbas
Quote1Ok... thanks guys... I just thought maybe I was the one causing the rift... Good to know I'm not being stupid. (she hugs them both)Quote2- Soledad
I aim to avoid getting involved in other peoples drama, as I don't think shouting is the best way to get things dealt with... But when it comes down to backing someone up I'm happy to do that after... I'll work with Soledad going forward, and I'll take her side when she needs me to do so.

–Abbas

It was good to get the back up I needed from Abbas and Don. I now don't feel as though I'm being this typical bitch who cant control herself when she gets power. I will keep "leading" the group if they're comfortable with me doing so, and I'll make sure to keep people around who both deserve to be here, and make me feel secure... Abbas and Don are prime examples of individuals who I want to play this game with. Neville doesn't know what he's doing, and I'll make sure he's the first one out of this tribe.

–Soledad

Outside the shelter, Marsha, Mary and Kris continue collecting firewood, taking time to enjoy their surroundings, observing the beauty of the untouched land. The group spot some giraffes off in the distance, causing all three to become excited, wanting to get a better look at one of natures giants. Kris climbs a tree in order to get a better look, whilst Marsha and Mary stand below him, looking towards the giraffes from ground level.

Africa is just the most beautiful place I have ever been. Looking over at these creatures gives you a whole new respect for... everything. We think our lives are urban cities, or... paying the bills. It's so much more! There's all this land out here for us to come and see... to experience... to interact with.

–Mary

The group stay and watch the animals, before getting back to work as soon as they move on. Marsha jokes with Kris, telling him to get down or he'll fall, to which he responds by swinging on a branch trying to imitate a monkey, much to Marsha's amusement. Mary and Marsha begin poking Kris with sticks, both laughing in the process.

Quote1C'mon get your ass back down here! (laughs)Quote2- Marsha
Quote1He'll stay up there all night now we've asked (laughs)Quote2- Mary
Quote1Well at least he's feeling better...Quote2- Marsha
Quote1Much better... Thanks for that Mary. Ok... catch me... ready?Quote2- Kris

Kris jumps down from the tree, making Mary and Marsha step back, allowing Kris to land heavily on the ground. Kris grabs his leg, groaning in pain, causing the girls to run over to check on him.

Quote1Oh my God Kris! Are you ok!?Quote2- Mary
Quote1Oh my Lord!Quote2- Marsha
Quote1Aghhhh!Quote2- Kris
Quote1Go get someone!Quote2- Mary

Before Marsha can run off, Kris stops groaning, letting go of his leg, before laughing at both girls, revealing that he was just faking an injury to wind them up. Marsha lightly taps Kris, telling him not to do that, as she could have had a heart attack. The three continue laughing, before grabbing their things and heading back to camp.

Its nice to make people laugh out here... it takes us away from the s**t reality that we're starving. Making people laugh is what I do I guess... I am a bit of a joker... Don't take life too seriously... Why would you want to? That'd be boring... I'll take it seriously when I'm old and like... forty.

–Kris

It was nice bonding with Kris as he's not someone I've really talked to since gettin' here. Also strengthening my relationship with Mary will always come in handy as she and I want to keep our trust mutual. Its good to know that Kris has fully recovered thanks to Mary's voodoo hoodoo medicine stuff... Made him act like a monkey in the tree... Maybe I'll have a little bit of that when I get hurt (laughs). Mother Africa has been good to us today though... Not too hot. Got our own private safari... it made any losses today seem forgettable. I mean, what reward challenge? (she smiles and laughs)

–Marsha

Samburu

The Samburu tribe return to camp having just won the reward challenge, earning themselves a large amount of supplies. The tribe celebrate their win after placing their new supplies with their old ones, opening two cans of fruit for the tribe to enjoy. Phoebe initially refuses any, but after some persuasion from Adela, takes her share of fruit, managing to keep it down after eating it. The group decide that the only task they need to do is to collect water, electing Renato, Adela and David to collect it. The three head off, taking their new cart with them, making carrying the water an easier task. Luigino sits alone sorting through the tribes supplies, whilst Phoebe and Ingrid both sit together talking. Briallen goes off by herself, feeling somewhat isolated by her tribe.

Throughout my life I've become accustom to being alone. I'm use to being the girl that no one really wanted to hang with. I'm not a skinny, cheerleader type... I don't have long dark hair or tanned skin... I think my appearance alone led me to become an introvert... And my social skills just aren't great because I don't normally deal with these social situations. In this tribe I just look so different from everyone else with my tattoos and piercings... I thought maybe being in the majority at tribal council would prove that I could be in... the big group... but once again I'm one of the loners (she laughs and begins to cry) ... I'm one of the misfits... Everywhere I go its just like "oh misfits alert"... Maybe things will change for me finally. If I can integrate myself better I wont stick out so much, and they can hopefully all like me for who I am... Not what I look like.

–Briallen

Phoebe and Ingrid discuss their positions in the tribe, with Phoebe claiming that she doesn't care if the others turn on her, as she doesn't know how much more she can take. Ingrid tries to change the topic, not wanting to hear Phoebe talking so negatively.

I have grown to like Phoebe... She reminds me of my youngest daughter. I feel a close bond with her I suppose... Although just like my daughter I don't feel the love going both ways (she laughs)... Until she's back up on her feet I wont leave her side... I want to take care of people when they're sick, its in my nature.

–Ingrid

I still don't feel too good out here, and I want to get some proper rest. I want my own bed... I want a shower... I want water that doesn't have the consistency of tar. Its never been so hard to drink water... I put it in my mouth and all I want to do is to spit it back up... But I know I have to drink it, I keep telling myself that it'll make me better. But in what world does drinking mud make you better?! (she begins to cry)

–Phoebe

Quote1Are you sure I cant get you anything?Quote2- Luigino
Quote1Yes...Quote2- Phoebe
Quote1Absolutely sure? You know I'm just trying to help...Quote2- Luigino
Quote1I'm fine.Quote2- Phoebe
Quote1She says she's fine...Quote2- Ingrid
Quote1(sighs) Yes I know... Ingrid, come help me with the cans.Quote2- Luigino
Quote1But I'm sitting here and helping Phoebe. Ask Briallen?Quote2- Ingrid
I am getting quite frustrated with Phoebe and Ingrid. Phoebe isn't accepting any help from anyone... even if we're offering. Ingrid is sitting around doing nothing! I tried to flat out tell her to get up, and she seemed oblivious... (sighs) They can both leave if that's how they want to play because I don't want to wait on them whilst they're here.

–Luigino

Whilst collecting the water, Adela, David and Renato discuss the quality of what they're bringing back, wondering whether the water is what has made Phoebe so sick. Renato decides to bring up Ingrid's laziness, claiming that he feels she should be a candidate to leave if they lose another challenge. David nods along to what Renato is saying, feeling as though Ingrid is a floating vote, and to remove her would make things more predictable.

It may be wise to get rid of Ingrid. No one quite knows where she stands... Is she with us? Is she with them? Is she with anyone? Get her out and it becomes obvious how everyone will vote, and it removes the worry of a surprise vote popping up somewhere.

–David

Quote1I'm not guaranteeing anything about my vote... I don't know how things will go...Quote2- Adela
Quote1You cant even make a guess?Quote2- Renato
Quote1For all I know something will come up. You weren't even on anyone's radar until you got sick... Phoebe isn't on my radar, but I'm sure she's on others because of her... condition.Quote2- Adela
Quote1Right, no I understand.Quote2- Renato
Quote1As long as we agree to go after the weakest person... We should all be ok.Quote2- David
I like Renato, I really do... But he does somewhat wind me up with his constant worrying. He knows he's in danger, and he doesn't seem to be improving too much... He wants to go for Ingrid or Phoebe, but both of those people voted on my side last tribal. I don't want to turn on people who helped me this early because that will give me the reputation of being fickle... I've taken a side and I'll most likely stick by it.

–Adela

Whilst pulling the cart back to camp, Renato takes another tumble, once again panting heavily. Adela and David stand by him, allowing him to rest before moving.

It's extremely concerning to see someone like this...

–David

We were just walking back... And he collapsed right in front of me... (she wipes a tear from her eye) It doesn't seem fair for him to be so sick because starting this game he was such a big part of our group, and now he's just not capable. I'd feel better knowing Renato was safe and in good care.. Out here I don't think he is.

–Adela

After Renato gets back on his feet, he walks slowly alongside the cart, whilst Adela and David drag it along. The group walk into camp, taking Renato over to the shade where Ingrid and Phoebe sit. Luigino gets started on boiling the water, with Briallen helping him. David tries to see what he can do to help the weaker contestants on his tribe.

Quote1Can I get anyone anything? We're boiling some water...Quote2- David
Quote1That'd be great... thank you.Quote2- Renato
Quote1I'm fine.Quote2- Phoebe
Quote1Phoebe, you're having a drink... You're lips are black and cracked... You haven't drank anything since we left and you'll just feel ill tonight unless you have something now... ok?Quote2- David
I'll admit the water here is disgusting. I don't like drinking it, but I know I have to... If I want to keep myself strong I'll drink anything. Phoebe and Renato need help right now... If we leave them to care for themselves I think they'll be pulled from this game on medical grounds. I don't want that to happen, so I'll force the water down them if I have to.

–David

I feel as though every day my chances decrease dramatically, particularly after I pant like a dog after a run. My saving grace might be that I want to get better, while Phoebe seems to have given up... Hopefully in time I will get my wish, and Phoebe will get hers.

–Renato

Day 6

Both tribes receive tree mail informing them that they will be facing their next immunity challenge. Boran strategize as to who will sit out, narrowing it down to Soledad and Marsha, deciding that they will pick who sits out upon seeing what the challenge itself is.

Tree mail insinuated that today would involve eating something... disgusting. I don't think I'll be able to do that... I don't eat ninety percent of foods just because I'm so fussy.

–Soledad

Going into todays challenge I feel that if we don't win I'm in big trouble... Hopefully we can get a winning streak going, keeping myself here for a few more days. I'm not ready to go home just yet.

–Renato

Challenge: Safari Supper
One at a time, members from both tribes must drink a shot of cow's blood. If at any time a person declines to drink or does not finish, that team is disqualified. If all members of both tribes complete the task, a tiebreaker is set. Each tribe must pick a member from the other tribe to chug a full glass of cow's blood. The first to finish wins the full glass wins.
Winner: Boran
Information (Boran): The entire tribe manage to get the cows blood down, with only Marsha somewhat struggling during the challenge, leading them to an easy victory.
Information (Samburu): Adela, David, Ingrid and Luigino all drink the cows blood with ease. Phoebe and Renato somewhat struggle during the challenge, but manage to eventually get the beverage down. Briallen is unable to drink her cows blood, spitting it back up after trying to swallow it countless times, costing her tribe the win.

Samburu

Samburu return to camp having just lost their second immunity challenge, meaning after tribal council they will be down two members. The tribe all sit down, displaying a defeated attitude. Briallen sits by Renato, feeling as though one of them will be leaving in several hours, worried it'll be her for costing the tribe the challenge. Phoebe sits with Ingrid, not caring about strategy, feeling as though she herself is ready to go home.

I'm waiting for someone to tell me how to vote... If no one comes I'll assume they've decided I need to go, and that's fine with me... (shrugs)

–Phoebe

Quote1I guess its you or me tonight buddy...Quote2- Briallen
Quote1You think?Quote2- Renato
Quote1Yeah... Sadly... (she holds his hand, slightly hugging him)Quote2- Briallen
Quote1(sighs) Well... I'm voting Ingrid.Quote2- Renato
Quote1Why her?Quote2- Briallen
Quote1I spoke about it with David and Adela... They both agree she's a waste of space here.Quote2- Renato
I'm happy to vote Ingrid... But I really don't feel she's going home. Its myself or Renato... But I don't want to destroy his faith in the others, because that's what is keeping him going out here... He's an optimist... I'd love to be one, but I think I'm too aware that reality is s**t. I cost us the challenge today! I could easily be going home...

–Briallen

Luigino, Adela and David sit by the fire together, talking quietly, trying to decide who should be the next to leave the tribe.

Quote1Its obvious right? Phoebe?Quote2- Luigino
Quote1I don't want to vote Phoebe...Quote2- Adela
Quote1Why!?Quote2- Luigino
Quote1Because she's with us... If we want someone sick to go... We need to vote Renato.Quote2- Adela
Quote1(laughs) We can make him loyal to us... At least he still tries to work! She just lies around acting like a corpse...Quote2- Luigino
I want Phoebe out tonight... Hell even Ingrid. Both sit around doing nothing and Renato at least tries.

–Luigino

Quote1Well David... what do you think?Quote2- Adela
Quote1I think... Renato or Ingrid. Phoebe is with us for now... keep it that way.Quote2- David
Quote1(sighs and shakes his head) Fine... you guys decide and tell me. (he walks off)Quote2- Luigino
It comes down to myself and Adela to decide what is to happen at tribal council, which feels a little unfair as it should be a group effort. Then again maybe its good that we decide who goes and who stays... It'll benefit us in the long run.

–David

I feel for everyone's benefit that Renato needs to go home tonight. Phoebe is apart of our alliance, as is Ingrid... in my mind at least. Luigino is pushing to get Phoebe out, and David wants Ingrid gone. I pray to God that we don't fall apart this early, because it'll be messy if we all vote separately. I'll speak with Ingrid and Phoebe, trying to get them to vote Renato... If not then I think we'll regret it later in the game.

–Adela

} Adela goes off to speak with Phoebe and Ingrid, trying to convince them that as an alliance they need to target Renato. However, Phoebe becomes demoralized by this, having hoped that she'd be the one going home. Ingrid tries to back Adela up, attempting to talk Phoebe into voting her way. David speaks with Renato, who asks if they're good on voting Ingrid, which David admits he is unsure about, stating that he will get back to him. Renato then goes to speak with Luigino, hoping to find another vote on his side. Luigino claims that he'd love to vote for Ingrid, but that it will only work if David joins them, as without him they will be in a minority.

I've tried my best to rally some votes on my side... I feel good knowing that Briallen and Luigino are willing to vote Ingrid, leaving the final option as David. If David doesn't vote for her, then I think Bri or I will head home... I see the other three girls sticking together.

–Renato

Quote1If you vote Ingrid tonight she goes... And we remove one of the lazier people... C'mon you said it yourself...Quote2- Renato
Quote1You don't think Adela and Phoebe would be too annoyed?Quote2- David
Quote1No! I know I'm not in the best physical shape, but I still do more then her... They'll realize this and accept it... What else can they do? They're two people at the end of all this.Quote2- Renato
Tonight I hold the fate of two people in my hands... I can go with Luigino, Renato and Briallen to vote out Ingrid, which I think would be good for the group... Or I can vote with Adela, Phoebe and Ingrid... to get rid of Renato... which I know would benefit us as we lose someone who isn't in a good state. It surprises me that Phoebe is getting a free pass in all this and more people aren't going after her (laughs)... Maybe when you want to go out here, you're forced to stay.

–David

At tribal council the group discuss ways in which they can win challenges. The majority of them claim that voting out weak people would grant them immunity, when asked what "weak" is, the group claim that sick people are weak, and that lazy people are weak. Luigino speaks up, condemning both Ingrid and Phoebe for their lack of effort around camp, whilst highlighting that both Renato and Phoebe are sick. Jeff questions the group whether Phoebe's "laziness and illness" would mean that she is the main target, but the group remain silent, with no one apparently gunning for her. Phoebe herself speaks up, claiming that she would be happy to leave the game, which is met by a laugh from Briallen, who shakes her head in disbelief. Renato admits that he feels it could be him, feeling as though his illness is taking a toll on the tribe, but he mentions that within "the next few days" he'll be well again. Ingrid starts the voting, with each member confidently casting their vote. As the votes are revealed, it is Renato who leaves the game in a 5-2 vote, with David deciding to stick with his alliance, keeping Luigino in line as well. As Renato stands, his entire tribe stand in respect, hugging him as their original leader exits the game. Renato wishes everyone luck, with clear disappointment in his voice, before leaving the tribal council area. The remaining six members head back to camp, with Briallen feeling completely isolated, having lost her only ally in the game.

Voting Confessionals

This is best for you... I'm not trying to remove the guilt from my conscience here, but I truly believe this will benefit us all.

–Adela

You don't really do too much around camp... You spend most of your time slacking off, and that's why it should be you.

–Briallen

You were a brilliant leader to start with, but your health sealed this vote for me. Much love man.

–David

You and I were aligned at first, but your allies caused your downfall sadly. I wish you all the best, and hope you make a speedy recovery out of these harsh conditions.

–Ingrid

I don't particularly want to vote you out tonight as I feel you earned your spot here... But I wont isolate myself by jumping ship.

–Luigino

You and I are both sick out here.. But only you are viewed as weak? I would love to get what you're getting tonight... a way to recovery.

–Phoebe

I've fought hard to try and stay tonight... Hopefully it isn't all for nothing and you go over me... Nothing personal, just that you were someone David pointed out as a liability.

–Renato

Final Words

Devastated is the word that comes to mind. I came out here with the goal to make it all the way to the end. Most people know me as a larger than life character, who has all these strong attributes... Out here sadly it all went sour in that first challenge, and since then I've been on a downward spiral. There are many factors that put me here tonight, and I'm just thankful none of them are because of poor gameplay on my part, or that I was just a bastard. I do feel that my tribe mates respected me and didn't want to do this, but I don't think I gave them much of a choice. I wish them all luck, and hope one of them goes on to do well from all of this.

–Renato
