Survivor: The Australian Outback is the second season of James' Survivor FanFiction. Sixteen strangers will compete against one another while battling the elements. They must learn to adapt, or they will be voted out. If they can learn to outwit, outplay, and outlast the rest, they will be given the million dollar prize and the title of sole survivor!
The winner of the season was Carlson, defeating Alia in a 6-1 vote for the title of Sole Survivor and the $1,000,000 prize. Victor was named the "Player of the Season", winning $100,000.
Production
This season featured sixteen all new castaways, divided into two tribes of eight. The tribes this season were Kucha, wearing blue, and Ogakor, in green. Kucha is the aboriginal word for Kangaroo, while Ogakor is the aboriginal word for Crocodile. On Day 20, the two tribes merged into the Barramundi tribe, wearing orange. The merged tribe is named after a fish native to Australia.
Twists
- None Major Survivor: The Australian Outback features the traditional 16 person format of Survivor, with no twists present during the season.
- Past Votes Tiebreaker: In an event of a tie vote, a revote would take place. If there is still a stalemate after the second round of voting, the votes cast against the players in question at previous Tribal Councils will also be counted. The castaway that had more votes would be eliminated from the game.

Trivia
- This is the second season to feature tribes merging with an equal number of members, following Borneo.
- The Australian Outback is the first season to see an African American voted out pre-merge and pre-jury, as all three in the previous season made it beyond the merge.
- It also features the first Asian American contestant reaching the final tribal council.
- Like Borneo, this season features a male-female final two which is also interracial. However, unlike Borneo this season has a Caucasian male and an ethnic minority female at the final tribal council.
- Carlson holds the distinction of being the first Caucasian player to win Survivor.
- Carlson also holds the current record for the youngest winner of all time.
- Out of the players voted out pre-merge, this season holds the greatest disparity between men and women, with one male being amongst the pre-jury against six women.
- Reniero set a record this season for most individual immunity wins by a single player with 5. He also set a record with 4 of these wins being consecutive.
- Curt received the most votes against him throughout the season, and currently holds the record for most votes against any player overall (with 13). Georgia received the seconds highest with 10 votes cast against her in eighteen days, a current record for pre-merge boots.
- This is the first and only season to feature the past votes tiebreaker, which carried over into the following season but was not utilised. It would later be replaced by fire-making and rock drawing tiebreakers.
- The author regarded this season poorly after writing, feeling that too much of the cast was made unlikable (particularly the Ogakor tribe). However, it was felt necessary to do this due to the fact that two members opted to flip on the tribe despite seemingly holding a good majority.
