Story

Day 21 (Night)

The newly merged Moto Maji tribe returns to camp, having just voted Mary from the game. Adela, Soledad and Marsha all stand awkwardly whilst several of their tribe mates gloat about Mary's departure, with the three of them knowing they are now on the outs. Soledad immediately seeks comfort from Don, asking him if he no longer trusts her. He assures her that he doesn't distrust her, but that he didn't trust her alliance, hence why he voted Mary out. Soledad then apologizes to Don, who hugs her in return.

Quote1Guess you guys had it all figured out the whole time.Quote2- Adela
Quote1Pretty much.Quote2- Luigino
Quote1I just wish some people were smarter in how they voted tonight.Quote2- Marsha
Quote1What like yourself? (laughs at Marsha) Don't even start Marsha.Quote2- Phillis
Quote1You guys never came to me... I had no other choice but to vote with the people who actually bothered speaking to me. Had you guys come and said what your ideas were I'd have helped...Quote2- Ingrid
Are you kidding me!? I told Soledad that we should go to Ingrid because she'd be on board. But apparently that would screw us... Well look what happened... We're screwed! Soledad comes back and throws her arms to Don 'Oh help me daddy! Oh daddy forgive me!' ... (scoffs) please.

–Marsha

It's nice to know that Ingrid would have voted me out had the girls wanted her in their damned alliance. I don't know what's wrong with Ingrid, whether she's a bit retarded... Maybe its early stages of dementia or something. There's nothing rational about her.

–Luigino

Ingrid showed us tonight that she was only loyal because of Mary's inability to play this game. Well guess what b***h, you're going next. She doesn't want to play loyal then I'll make sure she's the next one to go.

–Phillis

As the entire tribe goes to sleep, only Adela and David are left awake. Adela takes the opportunity to question David as to why he selected the other alliance over hers, to which he tells her that she made a bad move in selecting Luigino as the first target, because he wasn't willing to turn on his own tribe so quickly.

Quote1Yet you were willing to turn on me last night.Quote2- Adela
Quote1C'mon I didn't turn on you...Quote2- David
Quote1You didn't? Well to me it seems like I'm pretty much screwed now.Quote2- Adela
Quote1Dont be silly.Quote2- David
Quote1David if you want to play this game without me then go ahead, but I'm not giving you my loyalty or my friendship if this is how you're going to play.Quote2- Adela
Quote1You're overreacting...Quote2- David
Quote1Am I David? Ok. Well watch me overreact for these next three days and we'll see where it gets me. Keep watch on your own... Get use to being alone because that's how it'll be for you once I'm gone.Quote2- Adela
I feel I need to show David I'm pissed off. More pissed off than I actually am. If he thinks there's someone who is going to come after him then he'll try to appease them as much as possible... Soledad seems to have jumped ship already, Marsha is lost.... So I've got to look out for myself. Getting back into an alliance with David is necessary for my game, because sadly without him I'm unable to pull anything off.

–Adela

Adela is losing it out here. I use to think she was the person who could beat me in this game, but now that thought is just laughable. The fact she thinks her elimination would guarantee I go immediately after is ridiculous. However, this game is now mine... Its up to me what happens next, and I've got an array of people to chose from.

–David

Day 22

The remaining nine contestants all arise early, trying to get the most out of their days. Marsha and Adela sit with one another, feeling bitter about ending up in the minority after the previous nights tribal council. Soledad appears to have completely removed herself from her new alliance, now sitting firmly with the old Boran tribe in an attempt to win herself safety from the upcoming tribal councils.

Soledad is weak. She basically screwed myself, Mary and Adela... and now she's sucking up to the old alliance to save herself. I don't understand how she could have been so stupid to let this happen. Myself and Adela are somewhat to blame for this, but Soledad really put the nail in our coffin and handed all the power over to Phillis. If she wants to ditch us then fine, if I get any say in her game I'll make sure she goes home.

–Marsha

After last night the game took a turn for the worst in that we lost Mary. I feel for Marsha and Adela, they're sweet girls. But they don't have the same killer instinct that I have. They both seem to have given up, and I know that I need to keep myself here... So being around them is painting a target on my forehead and offering myself up as bait. It's every woman for herself.

–Soledad

Quote1That pisses me off...Quote2- Marsha
Quote1Same here... But what can we do?Quote2- Adela
Quote1Why... Why didn't we just do what we thought was best. She led us into disaster then saved herself.Quote2- Marsha
Quote1Well its just you and me now sister (sighs)Quote2- Adela
Quote1You and I aint going out of this thing. We gone get back into the fold, and we're gonna get them all outta here. It's about time a girl won this thing.Quote2- Marsha
Myself and Marsha know that we're in a precarious position, and it will be her or I going next unless we manage to change this game around. I need to somehow get back into David's alliance, and I'll do whatever I can to bring Marsha with me because she's the only person I feel the need to be loyal to right now. David so far has avoided me this morning, and I want to keep up my bitch front. Hopefully he'll feel some sort of guilt and his response will be to get the Samburu alliance back together. I cant guarantee anything but sadly that's all I can hope for because Don, Abbas, Phillis and now I guess Soledad are set on turning against me.

–Adela

Over by the fire, Abbas and Phillis sit and discuss their plans for the day ahead, with Phillis constantly going on about how they cant allow Marsha or Adela to win any challenges, not wanting either to get an advantage from rewards or immunities. The two are interrupted by Ingrid, who asks if either know how much beans she should cook for the tribes breakfast. Phillis ignores Ingrid and continues talking, much to the embarrassment of Abbas, who tries to interject in attempt to give Ingrid her answer.

I don't like Ingrid, nor do I trust her after last night. She's a loose cannon, the most illogical and dangerous person here just because you don't know what she'll do next. She bugs the hell out of me how she just seems to exist here without offering us anything but the paranoia she gives everyone because she could easily reveal alliance plans without realizing it. I'm in half a mind to vote her out next if I have to, just so I can sleep without needing one eye open.

–Phillis

Quote1Is anyone going to answer? (nervous laughter)Quote2- Ingrid
Quote1Oh for God sake Ingrid. You've been here twenty-two days, you should know how much to cook. Work it out.Quote2- Phillis
Quote1Well I haven't been in a tribe with this many people before, so how would I know portion sizes... Work it out. Are we rationing? Are we giving normal portions?Quote2- Ingrid
Quote1Just cook some damn beans! It isn't that hard of a task Ingrid!Quote2- Phillis
Phillis really doesn't have a clue when it comes to this thing. She seems to think that she can treat people like muck and there wont be any reprimand for her actions. I think she'll get a shock when she realizes how everyone here feels about her, particularly myself. I really dislike her negative energy and cant take the site of her in the morning because it reminds me that there's a cancer in the group. Sadly she's one of my closest allies and the perfect goat to take to the final tribal council. I can endure my suffering around her for a million dollars, but it's a stretch.

–Abbas

Ingrid nervously turns around and continues working, full of both rage and sadness. She holds back her tears, and cooks seven portions of beans, plating up everyone's breakfast but her own, before walking off outside the shelter and sitting under a tree. Ingrid begins to cry into her knees, with the pressure of the game finally getting to her.

I don't think anyone understands me out here. I... I'm alone... I don't have any friends... They laugh at me behind my back, they treat me like I'm a piece of dirt below their feet. I've tried to be kind, and I've tried to make the group see that I am a good person... But they don't want to give me the time of day. (she wipes tears from her eyes) ... I miss my family... My husband, my children, my grandchildren... My dogs... I just miss everything that I call home, and out here is nothing but a nightmare for me. The group is in for a shock if they want to assume I'll show loyalty when I'm treated like dirt... If they wanted me out then fine, I wouldn't care. But its the fact they need my vote that bothers me. Better stop assuming people because I'm going to shake your games upside down.

–Ingrid

Day 23

Challenge: Stomp-ede
Each castaway was given nine items and instructed to stomp on a plank of wood, catapulting one item at a time into a basket atop a tower. The first person to land all nine in the basket would be the winner.
Reward: Offer two goats to an African village in exchange for whatever the winner wants.
Winner:
David (shared with Adela)

Adela and David head off immediately for their reward, with Adela in shock that David had picked him. Upon arriving at the market, the duo attempt to sell their goats. They are quickly swarmed by curious locals, many of whom laugh at their attempt at selling in the market.

I don't think either myself or Adela would be good at market sales. We tried to get a reasonable price for the goats but no one would budge. I think they could smell our desperation so in the end we got one thousand six hundred shillings... So about ten dollars a goat.

–David

Quote1(taking the money) Thank you so much!Quote2- Adela
Quote1Thank you Sir...Quote2- David

The two go around the market, eventually finding a small food stall where they spend a thousand shillings on a large meal for the two of them. After eating their fill, the two joke at how full they now feel, with David admitting that he doesn't know if he was ready to take so much food. With only six hundred shillings left, the two agree to spend it on the rest of the group, buying candy and cookies, as well as several sodas. After spending all their money, the two head back to camp, having enjoyed the reward and break from the game.

The reason I picked Adela was simply because I wanted to really bring our bond back together. I don't feel as though I need her as an ally, but for safety reasons its best to keep her on my side. I don't want someone coming after me at this stage of the game. I'll keep in her good books, then when the time comes she'll have to go.

–David

David picking me for the reward really showed that my plans have worked, and he's making an effort to bring me back into his side. I suppose I scared him when I made threats (laughs)... We didn't talk any game on the reward sadly, but I'm going to use the experience to become friendly with him again, at which point I'll campaign to keep both myself and Marsha safe, throwing the other Boran members under the bus in the process.

–Adela

After the challenge, the remaining seven head back to camp, many sulking that they missed out the chance to go on the reward. Luigino appears particularly annoyed, considering that his close friend and ally David hadn't selected him to go on the reward, and instead had picked their old ally Adela.

Had I won today I'd have definitely selected David to come on the reward with me. So when I saw him win, I assumed that I was getting out of this hell hole for a while and that I'd be eating some food at a market. Instead he picks his old bestie Adela... I don't know what I'm suppose to do about this. On one hand I'm absolutely furious that he would pick her over me, and on the other I need to bite my tongue and not let my anger get in the way of my alliance, because I need to keep safe for these next few rounds in order to have a shot to win this thing.

–Luigino

Quote1I'm shocked he didn't pick you to be honest...Quote2- Abbas
Quote1Me?Quote2- Luigino
Quote1Yeah, I mean you two just seemed really close. Guess not.Quote2- Abbas
I saw the opportunity to stir the pot a bit, and I know it isn't the nicest thing to do but... You know I'm here to play a game as much as anyone. If I can throw some dirt onto David, probably my biggest competition out here... then I'll do it.

–Abbas

After arriving back, everyone gets on with socializing, with Soledad continuing to talk with Phillis and Don. Luigino goes to collect water with Abbas, who continues to 'throw dirt' on David, leaving Ingrid and Marsha alone to talk amongst themselves.

Quote1I just wanna say I'm sorry.Quote2- Marsha
Quote1For what?Quote2- Ingrid
Quote1Leaving you out of the loop yesterday. I said... I said to them that we should get you involved... But nope... Apparently that would "screw us" according to Soledad.Quote2- Marsha
Quote1I think you guys not coming screwed you... I'd have definitely been willing to help y'all.Quote2- Ingrid
Quote1(sighs) Now I'm screwed because I didn't listen to my gut.Quote2- Marsha
Quote1Well... you're not totally screwed. I mean nothing is set in stone here.Quote2- Ingrid
Talking with Ingrid is a bit of strategy and a bit of genuine friendship... She was someone who looked out for me back when we swapped tribes, and she's someone who I think I could definitely work with in the game. She made it known that she would've voted out Luigino last night had we pulled her in, but sadly we messed up and let her go with Phillis and David. I'm hoping that this time alone with her will give me the chance to sway her onto my side, and hopefully Adela does the same with David. That way we can get something going and send one of my old tribe mates home.

–Marsha

Quote1So you guys haven't already laid out graves for me and Adela?Quote2- Marsha
Quote1Well I certainly haven't. They barely talk to me... I mean Phillis treats me like muck... Abbas and Don rarely speak to me... Luigino I know doesn't like me.Quote2- Ingrid
Quote1Then why be with them?Quote2- Marsha
Quote1Who else can I go with? You guys left me out...Quote2- Ingrid
Quote1I know... I know... Ugh... Would you be sticking with them then? Or could you still be a floating vote?Quote2- Marsha
Quote1(stops and thinks) I wont do anything unless I know it will work... But my vote is definitely out there... If we can get something going then you count me in.Quote2- Ingrid
I don't want to be a bystander to David and Phillis anymore. There's a long list of people who looked down on me in this game, and I'll happily tick them all off when I send them to the jury (laughs)

–Ingrid

David and Adela return to camp just as the sun begins to fall. The group greet their fellow tribe members, all ecstatic to see the sweet treats they have brought back with them. Everyone is given an equal portion, thanking both David and Adela for their generosity.

It's a clever strategy to bring back treats for the losers... I love the gesture, but it wont prevent me from voting either of them out (laughs)

–Soledad

They come back from a reward that we all wanted to go on and they give us candy and soda. Its like your parents going out for a meal and they bring you an after dinner mint... It doesn't heal the wound of losing. I suppose it did make a few people happy, particularly Marsha who probably has a mouth full of cavities due to the amount of soda she could drink. Why couldn't they bring us back something more useful like... a few workers to do the shelter for us (laughs)

–Phillis

The group head to bed, all ready to face the immunity challenge the following morning, with Marsha and Adela feeling as though they need the win more than everyone else.

Day 24

The group receive tree mail informing them that they will be facing their next individual immunity challenge.

Today is a big one for me because I find myself in a pretty bad position in the tribe. Winning today would give me more confidence when campaigning against ex-Boran members, because I'd know that it couldn't backfire and I'd be the one going home.

–Adela

I absolutely have to win today. Do I think I'm going home? I don't think its set in stone, like Ingrid said. But I know that immunity round my neck would guarantee me three more days and that's all I want right now.

–Marsha

Challenge: Box Your Mind
The castaways had one minute to memorize the contents of compartments inside a barrel, and then, using their short-term memory, players would have to recreate the items in the various compartments. The first to complete the task would win immunity.

Upon arriving back at camp the group congratulate David, who has secured himself a place in the final eight. Adela and Marsha both look demoralized, knowing that the probability one of them is leaving has just gotten greater, with Phillis already leading the ex-Boran members off to one side in order to discuss the vote. Adela and Marsha begin talking with Ingrid, congratulating her on doing well in the challenge. She thanks them both, then asks if they've had any luck in securing David's vote. Adela admits she hasn't had much of a chance to speak with him, but claims that she will attempt to do so momentarily.

Today I almost won the challenge. Almost. I hope this doesn't become a common thing out here... Almost winning is the same as coming dead last... I don't want to be the woman who almost won things and got congratulated for that. I want people to say "good job Ingrid on WINNING" (laughs)

–Ingrid

Quote1We're back on talking terms before tribal? The shock (laughs)Quote2- David

Quote1The vote...Quote2- Adela
Quote1Go on...Quote2- David
Quote1We cant sit around and let the old Boran run this thing and potentially pick us off. Give them a chance they could sway myself, Marsha or Ingrid, because we're all feeling on the outs. So tonight best thing for your game, and mine... Is to blindside one of them.Quote2- Adela
Quote1Which one? Don and Soledad aren't much of a threat.Quote2- David
Quote1I'd say Phillis. She's the head of them all, it would be a nice way to shake up their games to lose the one acting as their spokesperson.Quote2- Adela
Tonight myself, Marsha and Ingrid agreed on targeting Phillis. None of us can stand her, and she has this weird cult like power and influence over the rest of her tribe. She doesn't have the physical ability that Abbas has, or the supposed likeability of Don... But I feel to take her out would be the smartest move for all of us, and it could guarantee that we hold the power with ease going forward from this tribal council. My fate now lies in David's hands, because he'll tell Luigino how to vote... If he wants to screw me over twice then he could, but I think he's smarter than that. David isn't an idiot and he's here to win...

–Adela

Quote1So how are we going to vote tonight?Quote2- Soledad
Quote1Well I think before we go on from here we should say welcome back Soledad. Its nice to see that you grew some brain cells and picked the right side. Ok, so... I've been thinking about the vote and I think there's only one smart way to go about this... We vote out Marsha.Quote2- Phillis
Quote1Oh my God please...Quote2- Abbas
Quote1What!?Quote2- Phillis
Quote1You want to take out Marsha!? Over one of them? Phillis I've listened to you for God knows how long ... But this is stupid. We vote out one of them tonight... Prevent them from getting the numbers. Adela is already a stray vote so no point in targeting her. Go for Ingrid, they'll understand us taking her out and wont be so vengeful when we get back from tribal.Quote2- Abbas
Quote1No wait ... -Quote2- Phillis
Quote1- No its done. I'm not going to let us screw up this advantage we've got. I'm done talking. Soledad give me a hand with the water?Quote2- Abbas
Quote1Uh, sure thing.Quote2- Soledad
Phillis is going to single handedly destroy our games with her terrible strategy. She thinks Marsha should go because she argues with Marsha frequently and wants to say that she beat her so called nemesis. Tonight we need to take out one of the core Samburu alliance... and the perfect one to target is Ingrid. She's not too close with Luigino and David, and they wont be so mad if she was to go and probably wouldn't view it as a direct hit, whereas taking out Luigino would only anger David. Soledad and I discussed it whilst getting the water and she said I was justified in my little outburst, which is good to know. I rarely get annoyed, but Phillis these past few days has really just been getting to me.

–Abbas

Quote1Did you see how he just spoke to me?! Did you see that?!Quote2- Phillis
Quote1Yes ma'am.Quote2- Don
Quote1I'm not having that. No way will a man ever talk to me that way. Disrespectful is what that is.Quote2- Phillis
Quote1Mmmhm.Quote2- Don
Quote1We're going forward with my plan Don, don't you forget that. Marsha is going tonight and I tell you how we're gonna do it. I'll go speak with David and dumbass, they'll agree to vote with us. We send her home, Abbas and Soledad realize they made a mistake, come back to us immediately after tribal. Got it?Quote2- Phillis
Quote1Sure thing.Quote2- Don
Don thankfully has a brain around here and will help me blindside Abbas, by voting out Marsha. David and Luigino need whatever they can get right now, so I'll make sure they join us and we send her home with four votes. The others will all be split, that way there wont be any shocks on my part. It feels good to shock people in this game, and I cant wait to see their faces (laughs)

–Phillis

Quote1Ok so who is it...?Quote2- David
Quote1Miss Marsha.Quote2- Phillis
Quote1Really?Quote2- Luigino
Quote1Yes. You're both fine with that I presume? She's poisoned Ingrid's mind these past few days and she'll do the same to Adela if we don't get rid of her.Quote2- Phillis
Quote1I hear you.Quote2- David
Quote1Abbas and Soledad don't know... They think its Ingrid going... They wanted to vote one of you guys out tonight and I told them no, because they don't control what happens...Quote2- Phillis
Quote1Wow, thank God we've got you.Quote2- Luigino
Quote1Yeah, you're a life saver.Quote2- David
Quote1So I can rely on you both? Yes? Good.Quote2- Phillis

David and Luigino look at one another and laugh when Phillis walks off, realizing that they both hold the power as to what will occur at tribal council, as they have the power to send home either Phillis or Marsha, both of whom are threats to their games.

Tonight I feel like I hold the key to who goes home, and I know Luigino feels the same but realistically he wont do s**t unless I tell him to. On one hand we've got Marsha the schemer, someone who could really be a problem for my game, and if she goes home I will further irritate Adela, ruining almost any chance I have of blindsiding the ex-Boran members later on. On the other hand we've got Phillis, who is a complete dumbass. She isn't a threat to win the game, but she's a number in the clique of ex-Boran who will easily take this thing if she stays around for too long. But If I get rid of Phillis then Marsha could easily turn Adela and Ingrid on me anyway. Both options have pros and cons, but there's one that will be better for my game...

–David

At tribal council the group talk about the shock last tribal gave to several members, with Marsha and Adela admitting that they're on the outs of this newly merged group. Marsha tries to plea for her safety by throwing Phillis under the bus, stating that she has the power over the other Boran members (much to their disagreement), and that if she stays her group will pick everyone off one by one. Phillis laughs at this, pointing out that Marsha is "the biggest schemer in the game", and that "everyone sees it". Marsha responds by telling Phillis how no one in the game respects or likes her, and that the most difficult thing about getting her voted out will be "convincing people to remove the perfect final two partner". When asked who feels at risk, only Marsha and Adela put their hands up, with everyone else admitting they feel confident that they will be staying in the game. Once the voting is over, the group sit nervously waiting for Jeff to reveal the votes, with Marsha and Adela holding hands. The two girls are disappointed to see only two votes come out for Phillis, with the next two being for Marsha, much to the confusion to Abbas. Abbas glares over at Phillis, who has a smug look on her face. The next two votes emerge, with Ingrid's name written on, confusing a large portion of the group. However, it is Phillis who is given the biggest shock, with the next two votes being cast against her, eliminating her from the game. Adela smiles to David, who winks at her. Marsha and Ingrid hug watching their nemesis hand her torch over to Jeff, whilst the rest of Boran sit in amazement as to what has just occurred. Phillis exits the tribal council area as the first member of the jury, leaving the tribe with the knowledge that whoever goes from here on out will be deciding which of them ultimately goes on to win the title of Sole Survivor.

Voting Confessionals

Sadly you're the easiest target of your group. I'm sorry for the way some people treated you, and I wish you all the best.

–Abbas

Lets hope that this isn't going to be another shocking tribal for me, and that you're the one going.

–Adela

Phillis, you tried a little too hard, and got a bit too cocky. I suppose I should learn to never feel safe, because you didn't even pack your damn bag (laughs)

–David

Marsha, this should be a shock to several people, but not to you. You dug your own grave, and its about time you left.

–Don

Never assume that you've got someone's vote, and treat others as you wish to be treated yourself. You don't need a million dollars sweetie, you need some God damn social skills

–Ingrid

You make me feel a bit ill, and I cant stand to spend much more time living with you.

–Luigino

If I outlast you tonight I will feel so blessed. You treat people like c**p and you have an inflated opinion of yourself and your abilities. There's being a good villain and strategist, then there's being an outright bitch. You are the latter

–Marsha

Knowing that I will be outlasting you is the best thing about tonight. It is a shame that you'll end up on the jury because you don't deserve to have a say in anything game related. You might not think I'm going to win, but I'll surprise you.

–Phillis

Sorry about this. You and I never had much to do with each other anyway.

–Soledad

Final Words

Boop! Boop! Crane to pick my jaw up off the floor please. This was shocking! I liked it though, its nice to be the obvious threat that they needed to blindside me like this. Hats off to David and Adela, because they obviously orchestrated the whole thing. I don't know what else to say really... I hope David wins it because he is playing a killer game.
