Abbas is a contestant from Survivor: Africa. Abbas established himself as a hard working and kind member of the Boran tribe, helping to lead the group to consecutive victories in immunity challenges before the merge. After joining the majority alliance in voting out Neville, Abbas found himself remaining on Boran after the tribe swap, causing him to become closer with tribe members Don and Phillis. At the merge, Abbas stayed apart of the combined Boran and Samburu alliance in order to vote out Mary from the all girls alliance. After Abbas began to notice the Samburu members gaining a numbers advantage, he advised his alliance members to vote out Ingrid, but his advice was ignored, causing the Samburu tribe to take control, voting out all of Abbas' allies. In order to save himself, Abbas continued to play an under the radar game, making a deal with David in order to keep himself in the game, constantly warning him about the potential female alliance that could be formed between Ingrid, Adela and Marsha. Abbas' clever gameplay allowed him to stay over Marsha, leaving him as the sole surviving member of the Boran tribe, giving him enough reason to go on an immunity streak, winning all three individual challenges getting himself to the final two. On his way, Abbas helped to eliminate his biggest competiton; Adela and David. After winning the final challenge, Abbas opted to bring Ingrid to the final two, viewing her as more deserving of the runner-up position than Luigino. At the final tribal council the jury applauded Abbas for his gameplay, and for successfully infiltrating the dominant Samburu alliance, whilst Luigino criticized Abbas for his laid back strategy, which he viewed as a lack of care for the game. Regardless of this, Abbas received five votes to win, earning him the title of Sole Survivor and the million dollar prize. Abbas was received positively by the audience, placing in the top three for the "Player of the Season" poll, losing out to Adela.
